Rachel's Guild

Did you know? St. Mary’s has a Quilt Guild? (also known as Rachel's Guild) at St. Mary's. Inspired by a similar group at Holy Innocents' Episcopal in Valrico, this guild was founded by Karen Menard as an outreach mission to create quilts for children in need, reflecting the biblical story of Rachel’s weeping (Jeremiah 31:15).

The guild meets in the newly renovated Tanno Hall on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month, from 2 to 4 p.m. In 2024, we donated 16 quilts to local elementary school nurses and gifted a larger quilt to a parishioner in need.

We welcome fabric donations and participants of all skill levels. You can sew at home or use the supplies available in the quilt room. No experience? No problem—Karen Menard offers free lessons!

Come join us for fellowship and creativity. Bring a friend! We hope to see you there.
